Terms of Service

By creating an account, signing in, or using HotkeyX, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using HotkeyX on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account. You must provide a valid email address and keep it current so we can send transactional email (sign-in links, receipts, important service notices).

One account per person. You may not share an account with other users or use a single account to provide HotkeyX functionality to a wider group.

HotkeyX offers two plans:

• Free. Up to 10 improvements per calendar week. No credit card required.
• Pro. $19/month billed monthly, or an annual option at a discount, both processed through Stripe. Includes unlimited improvements subject to the Fair Use Clause below.

Pro subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep Pro access until then. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods.

Refunds. If you are unhappy with your first Pro purchase, you can request a full refund within 14 days of that initial charge by emailing support@hotkeyx.app. Renewal charges and subsequent purchases are non-refundable. If applicable law in your jurisdiction grants you broader refund rights, those rights apply.

Prices are in US dollars and exclusive of any local taxes, which we may add at checkout. We may change pricing for new subscriptions or future renewal periods with at least 30 days' notice; the price you already paid for the current period will not change.

If you have a legitimate workflow that pushes these thresholds, email us — we will work with you. The intent of this clause is to deter scraping, resale, and bots, not to penalize power users.

You agree not to use HotkeyX to:

• Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Create or distribute malware, phishing material, or content designed to deceive or harm.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the service, bypass authentication, or probe for vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure process.
• Resell the service, repackage the API, or otherwise provide HotkeyX functionality to third parties as a product or service.
• Use the service in a way that violates the acceptable-use policies of the underlying model providers, including Anthropic.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, including for repeat or severe abuse, with or without notice.

Your content. You retain ownership of the text you select and the rewrites HotkeyX produces from it. You grant HotkeyX a limited license to process that text solely to deliver the service (running the improvement call, storing your history if enabled, and showing it back to you).

Our platform. HotkeyX, including the macOS app, website, API, design, brand, and underlying code, is owned by HotkeyX and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. These terms do not grant you a license to the platform itself beyond your right to use the service as intended.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions, you grant us the right to use them freely and without obligation to you.

HotkeyX is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted service. We do not warrant that the rewrites produced by the underlying AI models will be accurate, appropriate, or fit for any particular use — you should always review output before sending it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HotkeyX and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid HotkeyX in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You can terminate your relationship with us at any time by cancelling your subscription and emailing support@hotkeyx.app to request account deletion. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, if continued service exposes us to legal risk, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue HotkeyX entirely, we will give active Pro subscribers reasonable advance notice and a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the current billing period.

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will email active users and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, your remedy is to stop using the service and request account deletion.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If you are a consumer based in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to bring claims in your local courts, this clause does not override that right.
